Trevor Kitchen, whom Whistleblower Community Information has been following since his discovery of foreign money manipulation by the Swiss authorities, was detained by Dutch officers on April 17, 2022 at Schiphol airport, Netherlands as he and his spouse, Juliet, have been touring.
The Swiss authorities had issued an European Arrest Warrant (EAW) earlier, which charged Kitchen with breaching secrecy and privateness legal guidelines to be able to retaliate towards Kitchen. He had been arrested beforehand in 2021 in Portugal, and three Lisbon judges threw out the case and the Swiss extradition request. The Supreme Courtroom upheld the decrease court docket resolution after Swiss officers appealed.
Kitchen subsequently has been dwelling in Portugal awaiting a choice by the U.S. Securities Alternate Fee or Federal Commerce Fee on his whistleblower claims. Kitchen had beforehand famous that he feared for his life if he’s extradited to Switzerland as whistleblowers are seen as a critical risk to the Swiss financial system. Kitchen notes that “the federal government’s pursuit of him is politically motivated and institutes the abuse of course of. It’s related to whistleblowing actions on the foreign money manipulation scandal that resulted in billions of fines for Swiss banks.”
